“Anu” from Anushka, “Kul” from Nakul, and that is how #AnuKul got its name. A jaimala with the sun going down over the sea.
Most of the 250 guests flew in from Delhi, so this was a wed-cation as much as a wedding. We took a buy-out of Beleza by the Beach in South Goa, 100 rooms, which gave the family the whole property and, just as importantly, a beach view for the mandap and the jaimala from inside the resort. Using the beach itself would have meant a licence and a large cost for the same view.
That is the sort of decision that does not show up in the photographs but shows up in the budget.
