Both. Most families still send printed cards to elders and close relatives, and a digital invitation on WhatsApp to everyone else.
Send the save the date as soon as the dates and venue are fixed, ideally four to six months ahead, so guests can plan leave and book flights. The main invitation can follow six to eight weeks before the wedding.
